Creating a Smoothie bowl

Being a smoothie bowl enthusiast, I have created many different versions of them and have eaten them with great pleasure. I just love making them and coming up with new recipes, keeping it exciting and delicious.
Lately I’ve been getting a lot of questions about how to make these smoothie bowls, so I decided to dedicate this post to my go to smoothie bowl recipe! A few months ago, I told you guys how to make a yummy smoothie bowl, but you can never have enough recipes in my opinion!

What you need for the base of this heavenly bowl:
– 2 bananas (frozen or fresh)
– 1/4 cup of water
– Hemp protein powder (or any other protein powder, but I prefer all natural ingredients)
– Chia seeds
– Coconut milk, almond milk or any other type of nut milk

First blend the bananas and about 1/4 cup of water together until it’s a smooth, thick consistency. Then simply add the rest of the ingredients and blend together. The amount of nut milk depends on how thick or thin you want your smoothie bowl base to be, so you can play around with that and see what you like best. Practice makes perfect.
Pour the smoothie into a bowl, and let the fun part begin! I like to add raw cacao nibs, fresh fruit and goji berries to my bowl, but there are so many delicious and healthy things out there that you can put on top of your smoothie, so there are endless possibilities.

Here’s a list of great toppings to use:
– Raw cacao nibs
– Goji berries
– Shredded coconut
– Dried (or fresh) mulberries
– Fresh fruit, such as kiwi, banana or strawberry slices
– Blueberries
– Freeze dried raspberries
– Crunchy granola
– Bee pollen

That’s all you need for a delicious and nutritious smoothie bowl, so have fun and enjoy.  Be creative while making them, and I’d love to hear about your creations and experiments!
